Jungle River Fishing
Jungle River fishing is simply incredible around theTortuguero area. Some of the fresh water fish in these rivers are Common and Fat Snook, Rainbow Bass (Guapote), Black Bass (Mojarra), Cubera Snapper as well as approximately 50 other species.
These fish can be caught year round, but the best months for Snook are September through March on the Caribbean coast.
A 3-day tour length is recommended to have ample time to fish and appreciate the wildlife in the dense forest along the river banks.
River fishing is only $65/hour for the boat, captain and fishing gear. The costs may be shared among fishermen and women. There is a 4 hour minimum.
Ocean Fishing
Whether fishing near the mouth of the Tortuguero River for Snook, Crevalle Jack, Corvina and Snapper or in the Caribbean Sea for Tarpon, Wahoo, King Mackerel and Yellowfin Tuna, salt water fishing is great year round.
Salt water fishing is $75/hour for captain, boat, fishing gear and cold beverages with a minimum of 4 hours.
